"Camp Here" over the 4th of July

Well, alright, if you insist.

But we only ended up staying 2 days and 1 night because J got strep and Sweetie got the stomach flu:
Despite the sickies, we still had fun. We stayed by this lake where the kids caught disgusting-looking crawfish with self-fashioned fishing poles.
The kids played "fort," played with playdoh, played spoons, went geocaching, and did a candy hunt. H found a few pieces himself and promptly bit through the wrappers to taste the sugary goodness.
It was so nice to get out of the heat and into the mountains and the pines, especially when we could go with such great friends! Hopefully next year we'll leave the bacteria/viruses at home and have an even better time.

the proof is in the pics

Last weekend we went camping with two other fabulously fun families in our ward here. As we were pulling out of the campground, Mister said, "But Mom, we never got to play in the dirt." Oh, really? You don't say? Well, the proof is in the pics, my child.
1. my own bed
2. dutch oven dinners and breakfasts
3. friends to camp with, friends to laugh with
